Desander

Desander equipment

Desander

It is equipment that is used to separate the sand and slit from the drilling fluid. it is used especially in work-related construction. They are usually installed by the constructors on the top of the mud tank to separate the sand and slit from the fluid that is used for drilling.

DESCRIPTION

Desander is a useful mud recycling equipment that removes the solid particles within a specific range, i.e., 40 microns to 50 microns, from the mud (or drill fluid). A desander utilizes a number of hydro cyclones that process the solid particles using centrifugal force. Multiple screens are present in the desander that filters out any particulate that is present in the mud after leaving the annulas. Desander is the third piece of equipment in the mud recycling process. It is used after the drill fluid has already been treated under the shale shaker and degasser. It is used before many of the other mud cleaning equipment, including mud cleaner, desilter, and mud agitator. Desanders are a critical part of the treatment process that is utilized after the initial scalping shaker pass. The underflow will be recirculated over to the shaker if required. The objective is to remove solids particles that have missed out on previous treatments. After this treatment, the treated fluid is then moved to the next stage. Main features of Desander
  • Large diameter hydro cyclones
  • Underflow shale shaker
  • Power device
  • A deposit tray, typically a mud tank
