Mud Cleaner equipment is a combination of desander, desilter hydro cyclone with an underflow shale shaker. To overcome limitations that are present in many solid removal equipment, ‘new’ equipment was developed with the purpose of removing drilled solids from weighted muds. The Mud Cleaner does remove most of the drilled solids while also retaining the barite as well as the liquid phase present in the mud. The discarded solids are sieved to discard larger solids, and returned solids are smaller even from the screen size of the liquid phase.

The Mud cleaner plays a vital role in the system. It is effective when applied directly after barite is added to the mud system. The continuous use of the mud cleaner ensures the removal of solid, which after that breaks down into silt and clay sizes. It prevents any kind of drill bit solids accumulation in the equipment.

Our mud cleaner is an indispensable tertiary solids control device arranged after shale shaker and vacuum degasser in full drilling fluid circulation system. It targets fine solid particles ranging from 20~74μm which cannot be fully separated by primary screening equipment, widely deployed for oil & gas drilling, geothermal well and directional drilling projects with weighted mud system. By recycling valuable barite powder from waste slurry, it drastically cuts procurement cost of weighting agent and reduces hazardous drilling cuttings discharge for drilling contractors.
